Running with Molly along the Ystwyth River path to the sea from Rhydyfelin. I spoke to a man with a lurcher and he told me about a friend of his who had been attaked by a greyhound along this path.

Molly didn't know what to make of the cows in the field alongside the path.

Nice and easy run along the Ystwyth River. I saw 5 golden retrievers (all beauts), a friendly cow (moo), a fire at the base of Pen Dinas hill, a fire engine (nee-nor), a boy racer being brought to a standstill and a nice sunset. I ran half the route on a dirt track and the other half on tarmac, which is risky cause I've got a dicky knee, but a little tarmac should be OK (I hope).

My nipples were still sore and scabby from the 10k I ran on Sunday. I was worried the scabs might fall off, so I lubed them up with Vaseline!

This was an easy run, 2 laps around Walsall Arboretum. I think it will be a regular route when I'm working from the studio in Walsall. There's an outdoor gym so i'm gonna try and use a piece of equipment to do a different exercise everytime I complete a lap.

Ran my 1st 10k this weekend for LHM. Actually according to my GPS tracker on my iPhone it was only 9.57k, so I’m gonna go with that measurement.

Where the money goes...

Every penny raised for Little Hearts Matter goes directly to support the children, their Mums and Dads as well as their wider family to cope with the condition and most importantly to help the children live as active a life as possible.

Your efforts will help offset the cost of...

* the LHM support and advice service.
* the LHM Volunteer Parent Support line.
* bringing families together, ending their feelings of isolation.
* funding education events where families learn from medical experts.
* supporting our bereavement support services.
* raising the profile of our children and their conditions.
* funding children’s activity weekends.
* helping us contribute towards the field of research, vital to these children and many others.

The Idea

I've never been much of a runner, but after a few months stomping over the dirt tracks of West Bromwich and Aberystwyth i thought i could raise some money for a good cause with this new hobby of mine. So I've set myself the challenge of running the 'On Your Marks For Little Hearts' 10k on Sunday 11th October for the charity Little Hearts Matter.

Then i began to think i could take this a little further, so i've decided to set myself the challenge of running 1000k over the next 12 months to raise my goal of £1000. I'm starting Sunday the 11th October and i have until this time next year to reach my goal, which breaks down to an average of 19.23k per week, or 2.73k per day.

During this year I'll measure all the running i do, both training and organised runs, tracking my progress in this blog with images taken whilst i run and maps from mapmyrun.com

That's the challenge. So please help me raise money for Little Hearts Matter. Follow the link to Just Giving where you can donate whatever amount you can afford to help me reach my goal.
